On August 4, 2019, an Islamic State (ISIS) supporter published an emotional diatribe in English on Telegram, accusing other supporters of cowardice for preferring activity on Telegram to being "real supporters with clean belief" and perpetrating acts of terror.[1] The post urges ISIS supporters to "answer the call" and "kill unbelievers," citing ISIS operatives who committed acts of terror in the West. The author mentions Amedy Coulibaly, perpetrator of the attack in Paris on January 9, 2015; the Kouachi brothers, perpetrators of the Charlie Hebdo killings in Paris on January 7, 2015; Omar Mateen, perpetrator of the Orlando night club shooting on June 12, 2016; Stephen Paddock aka Abu Abdul Barr Al-Amriki, perpetrator of the Las Vegas shooting on October 1, 2017; and Mehdi Nemmouche, perpetrator of the shooting at the Jewish museum of Belgium in Brussels on May 24, 2014. The message castigates ISIS supporters on Telegram for their lack of activity on Facebook and Twitter, which the writer claims they have abandoned for fear of being arrested. He accuses supporters of living among the unbelievers and being unable to "grab a big knife and stab crusaders in the heart," and instead "treating crusaders to posters every day." It should be noted that the message is unusual in its virulent attack on ISIS online supporters. In most cases, ISIS media operatives encourage supporters to be active online and engage in what is considered to be a legitimate form of jihad, through the media.
The following is the contents of the message, slightly edited for clarity:
"#Supporters Or #Cowards:
Spending time on creating Telegram groups, they think that they are real Supporters because they are seeking to be famous on Telegram (LOL). They never share [Islamic] State news on Facebook and Twitter or other social media platforms where you can find all kinds of people, they are afraid to be arrested! They are making factions on Telegram; if you are not in his faction, they will insult you and then ban you from the group! Even if you are a Supporter and you did time in jail for being Supporter....
They saw what crusader jets did to our brothers in #Baghouz and in all other provinces in #Syria and #Iraq and they didn't manage to take revenge!! Most of those cowards are living in the West, with crusaders in the same streets, and the same buildings, and they aren't able to enter the kitchen and grab a big knife and stab crusaders in the heart for what they did to our brothers!! But those cowards are afraid, they love life more than death, for Allah they are seeking to be famous! They WILL NEVER EVEN act or take revenge. They keep treating crusaders to posters everyday but there are no acts!! They keep talking without killing unbelievers!! But they did nothing.
REMEMBER that the brothers who did operations in the west like #Coulibaly , #Brothers_kouachi , #Omar_mateen #AbuAbdalbar_Alamriki #Mehdi_Nemouch and other brothers that answered the call, they never created groups on Telegram, seeking to be admins like some Indonesian and Pakistani kids!! They answered the call immediately!! Because they are real supporters with clean belief!!
So don't be a coward and GO ANSWER THE CALL and save your soul from Hellfire!"
