On November 20, 2023, the Turkestan Islamic Party (TIP) issued a statement announcing a new "communications platform," where supporters can offer "economic, military, and political" suggestions and advice to the group. The TIP is a predominantly Uyghur, Salafi-jihadi group which seeks to establish an independent Islamic state, "East Turkistan," in China's northwestern Xinjiang territory.
In a Uyghur-language post on Telegram, the TIP stated: "The Turkistan Islamic Party has released a communication platform for those who want to help in various fields, while thanking all the individuals, organizations, and countries that have helped in the 'East Turkistan' issue." The group has branches in Syria and Afghanistan.
