Since the terrorist attack perpetrated by Hamas on October 7, 2023, in which 1,200 people were murdered and 240 were kidnapped, and the start of the ensuing war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, the Qatari dailies, both those published in Qatar and those published in London, have been rife with cartoons that mock the U.S. and condemn its foreign policy and its President Joe Biden for supporting Israel in the war. Criticizing the military and economic support that the U.S. is providing to Israel, the cartoons presented the U.S. as an active participant in the bloodshed in Gaza. They also ridiculed American statements about the situation in Gaza and anticipated its relegation to the trashcan of history.
Below is a sampling of these cartoons.
