Jose Pimentel, the 27-year-old New York resident of Dominican origin and convert to Islam who was arrested November 19, 2011 and accused of plotting to blow up U.S. targets - including U.S. troops returning from Iraq and Afghanistan - and launch a one-man holy war in New York City, maintained several websites to disseminate his beliefs. Writing in English under the name M. Yusuf (having adopted the name "Muhammad Yusuf" after converting to Islam), he discussed Islam and current affairs, and provided links to introductory books on Islam, websites about extremist Islamists, as well as texts, videos and tapes by extremists, including Al-Qaeda leaders Osama bin Laden, Ayman Al-Zawahiri and American-born cleric Anwar Al-Awlaki. Most of the material seems to be aimed at Muslims, and seeks to convince them of Al-Qaeda's virtue and of the evil nature of "Islam's enemies," especially the U.S. ...
