MEMRI Needs Your Help – Support MEMRI Research Into 2025

December 13, 2024
Special Announcements No. 1576

The Middle East of December 2024 is tumultuous, as the Assad regime in Syria falls and the top leadership of Iran's other proxies in the region, Hizbullah and Hamas, is no more.

At MEMRI, we continue to "bridge the language gap," monitoring and translating from the media of the region, publishing original analysis, and showing what is really happening like no other organization can.

Our focus is on statements by governments, terrorist and rebel groups, and their leaders, and at the same time we are exposing the inflammatory antisemitic, anti-Israel, anti-U.S., and pro-Hamas, pro-Hizbullah, and pro-Houthi rhetoric of extremist imams in mosques across the U.S. and the West.

We are appealing to you, a reader and donor, because you are aware of our vital work.

MEMRI research focuses on the most recent events and developments in the Arab and Muslim world, as well as in Russia and China, via their media – because these have ramifications for U.S. security and the welfare of U.S. citizens. Our research assists and benefits governments, legislatures, media, and academia worldwide. We provide key content, primary source translations, original analysis, alerts, and real-time threat information to U.S. federal and state agencies and legislators, as well as governments throughout the West.

NO OTHER ORGANIZATION DOES THE WORK THAT WE ARE DOING.

YOUR TAX-DEDUCTIBLE DONATION SUPPORTS MEMRI RESEARCH INTO 2025

In offices located around the globe, MEMRI's dedicated research teams produce cutting-edge research around the clock – seven days a week, 365 days a year. Your tax-deductible gift supports all of our vital work, including these projects:

  • MEMRI TV – One of our flagship projects, the MEMRI TV project scours hundreds of channels and online broadcasting outlets – Arab, Iranian, Urdu, Turkish, Russian, and Chinese – for relevant, important content to record, translate, subtitle, and publish. MEMRI TV clips of statements by Hamas leaders have been used by the U.S. and other governments. To date, MEMRI TV clips, numbering over 11,600, have had over 350 million views across the web.

  • Sermons By Imams in The West Project – MEMRI TV clips of hate-filled sermons by imams throughout the U.S. and Canada, particularly since October 7, have prompted widespread criticism from political leaders and public apologies from some imams.

  • Lantos Archives on Antisemitism and Holocaust Denial – Named after the late honorable Congressman and Holocaust survivor Tom Lantos, this project exposes Muslim antisemitism in the Arab and Muslim world and the West and maintains the world's largest archives on this subject.

  • Jihad and Terrorism Threat Monitor (JTTM) Project – Monitoring, translating, and analyzing content online by jihadi organizations and individuals, with a focus on their outreach, expansion, recruitment, indoctrination, social media, and fundraising.

  • Domestic Terrorism Threat Monitor (DTTM) Project –Scrutinizing online propaganda, incitement, threats, and recruitment activity by violent neo-Nazi groups and individuals.

  • Reform Project – Translating media and other primary source content to highlight and amplify the voices of reformists and liberals who support reform, democracy, equality, and human rights.

For over 25 years, MEMRI has remained one of the world's most productive nonprofit think tanks focusing on the Middle East and South Asia and on threats from these regions to the U.S. and the West. Our research output equals or surpasses that of similar organizations many times our size with many times our budget. Not a day has passed in over a decade without new MEMRI research being posted on our website and sent out in emails to subscribers.

MEMRI research, with its significant intelligence value, is filling a major void. In our 26th year, we again prove that we are leaders in this field. But during this extremely eventful time, our research and translation teams are feeling the strain. There is so much more of this primary source material that MEMRI needs to monitor, translate, and distribute. We are appealing to you, our donors, to help us hire more staff to monitor and translate more primary source content and distribute it to governments, legislatures, media, and our readers.

Our linguists and analysts – experts in the field – have been exposing extremism, antisemitism, and jihadi threats for over a quarter of a century. We are asking you today to help us continue our essential and unique work. We cannot do this without you.

With gratitude,
