On August 8, 2024, pro-Islamic State (ISIS) media outlets published videos and posters inciting attacks against Christians and encouraging arson attacks in the West to avenge "fallen brothers" killed in anti-ISIS military campaigns in Syria and Iraq.

 

Iran-Backed Iraqi Resistance Coordination Committee Threatens: If U.S. Strikes In Iraq Again Or Uses Iraqi Airspace To Attack Iran, IRCC 'Is Not Bound By Any Restrictions,' 'Response Will Have No Ceilings'

On August 12, 2024, the Iraqi Resistance Coordination Committee (IRCC), an umbrella group comprising several Iran-backed militias in Iraq, issued a brief statement threatening to resume unrestricted attacks against U.S. forces if the U.S. again strikes in Iraq or uses the country's airspace to attack Iran.

 

Political Chief Of Iran-Backed Iraqi Al-Nujaba Movement: The Resistance Has Renewed Operations Against Foreign Forces In Iraq; Will Participate In Response To Assassinations Of Senior Resistance Officials

On August 14, 2024, Ali Al-Asadi, the chairman of the political council of the Iran-backed Al-Nujaba Movement militia, gave an approximately 50-minute interview to the Iraqi Alsumaria TV website, during which he declared that any aggression [on the part of the U.S.] would trigger the renewal of resistance operations against it.

 

Commander In Iraqi Hizbullah Brigades Killed In Israeli Airstrike In Southern Lebanon, According To Most Reports

On August 8, 2024, several unofficial Telegram channels supporting Iran-backed Iraqi militias reported that a commander in Iraq's Iran-backed Hizbullah Brigades, had been killed "while carrying out his holy duty."

 

Director Of Iran-Based 'Global Front Of The Youth Of The Resistance' Meets In Baghdad With Head Of Badr Organization To Discuss Means Of Bolstering 'Jihadi And Revolutionary Awareness Among Iraqi Youth'

On August 7, 2024, the Iran-backed organization "The Global Front Of The Youth Of The Resistance," reported on its Arabic-language Telegram channel that its director, Ismail Bor Hawashimi, met in Baghdad with Hadi Al-Ameri, the head of Iraq's Iran-backed Badr Organization.

 

The Iraq Office Of Yemen's Houthis Runs Poster Campaign Aimed At Raising Profile Among Shi'ite Pilgrims To Kerbela And Attracting Youth Recruits

The newly-opened representation office of Yemen's Iran-backed Ansar Allah Movement (Houthis) in Baghdad posted on its Telegram channel dozens of posters that appear to be part of a media campaign aimed at raising the group's profile among Iraqi youth, in what may be part of a recruitment outreach effort.

 

Telegram Outlet Affiliated With Iran-Backed Iraqi Militias Doxes U.S. Firms In Baghdad Over Alleged Support Of Israel

On August 8, 2024, a Telegram channel affiliated with Iran-backed militias in Iraq shared posts as part of its efforts to publish identifying information on U.S. interests and businesses in Iraq, alleging that they support Israel.

 

Iran-Backed Group Of Iraqi Hackers Claims Widespread Cyberattack On Jordan's Official Government Portal Over 'Normalization' With Israel

On August 13, 2024, an Iran-backed group of Iraqi hackers claimed to have launched a cyberattack targeting several Jordanian government websites, causing widespread disruption.

 

Syrian Opposition Media: With Russia's Help, Iran Building, Equipping Base On Syria's Coastline

On August 12, 2024, the pro-Syrian opposition outlet Syria TV reported on its website that Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has finished building its first naval base between the cities of Jableh and Baniyas on the Syrian coastline.

 

Syrian Opposition Outlet: Iran Deploys 150 Afghan And Iraqi Fighters To Syria's Deir Al-Zour

A Syrian opposition website reported that 150 Afghan and Iraqi fighters were deployed from Iraq to Syria under the auspices of Iran. The website published an article on August 14, 2024, titled "Military Reinforcements for Militias Supported by Iran Arrive from Iraq to Albukamal."

 

Al-Qaeda's Affiliate In Sahel (GSIM) Claims Killing 140 Soldiers Near Burkina Faso's Fada

On August 13, 2024, the Al-Zallaqa Media Foundation, the media arm of Al-Qaeda's affiliate in the African Sahel, Jama'at Nusrat Al-Islam Wal-Muslimeen (the Group for Support of Islam and Muslims – GSIM), published a statement claiming responsibility for an August 9 attack against the Burkinabe Army.

On August 13, 2024, the military command of Al-Qaeda's affiliate in Somalia, Harakat Al-Shabab Al-Mujahideen (Al-Shabab), published a statement in Somali claiming responsibility for a same-day "crushing assault" on a military base of Somali government militias in Ilbakh, on the outskirts of Balcad, in Somalia's Middle Shabelle province.

On August 8, 2024, a pro-Al-Qaeda outlet published a poster depicting a person holding a handgun following a group of policemen.

Pro-Al-Qaeda Magazine Incites 'Revival Of Assassination Ritual,' Offers Instructions; Calls To Saudi People To Rebel Against Royal Family, 'Defeat America'

On August 14, 2024, Al-Qaeda supporters on an Al-Qaeda-operated server shared Issue Six of the pro-Al-Qaeda magazine, "Inspire The Believers."

 

In Chatter On Al-Qaeda-Operated Rocket Chat, Users Disagree Over 'Permissibility' Of Suicide Operations, Express Hope Al-Qaeda's Branch In Sahel Rivals Islamic State (ISIS) In Nigeria

On August 9, 2024, a user of the English-language chatroom on an Al-Qaeda-operated server asked for material to prove the permissibility of suicide bombings, known among jihadis as "martyrdom-seeking" operations.

Australian Pro-Islamic State (ISIS) Preacher Criticizes Amendment To Australian Counter-Terrorism Legislation As Attempt To Silence Critics Of IDF's Acts In Gaza

On August 12, 2024, an Australian pro-Islamic State (ISIS) preacher, a central figure in the Salafi and jihadi community in Australia and among English-speaking jihadis on social media, posted on a video on his Telegram channel in which he discusses a new amendment to the Australian Counter-Terrorism Legislation.

 

Hay'at Tahrir Al-Sham (HTS) Security Apparatus Claims Killing & Arresting 'Islamic State (ISIS) Operatives,' In Northern Idlib; Anti-HTS Sources: They Were Not ISIS

Hizb-ut-Tahrir Afghanistan Criticizes Afghan Taliban Failure To Aid Palestinians: 'If Not Sharing A Border With Palestine Is An Excuse For Not Helping Them... Afghanistan Has Borders With Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, And Turkmenistan, Where Islamic Values And Rituals Are Banned'

On August 4, 2024, Hizb-ut-Tahrir Afghanistan criticized the Afghan Taliban Deputy Prime Minister for Political Affairs Mawlawi Abdul Kabir for saying at the inauguration of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian: "Maybe if we shared a border with the occupying [Israeli] regime, we would have gone to war with the Zionists in defense of the oppressed people of Gaza."
