On July 16, 2024, an article in the pro-Hizbullah Lebanese Al-Akhbar daily claimed that the regional "axis of resistance" has begun to operate as a military alliance confronting the alliance that supports Israel, led by the U.S. According to the daily, Hizbullah is waging a war of attrition with the aim of imposing on Israel "an equation of horror and deterrence, in advance of a large campaign," in which forces from Yemen, Iraq, and perhaps from Syria would participate.

Houthi Official Threatens Saudi Arabia: "War Is Imminent"

In early April 2024, the Central Bank of Yemen, based in Aden and aligned with the Riyadh-backed government, ordered Sanaa's banks – under Yemen's Iran-backed Ansar Allah movement (the Houthis) – to relocate their headquarters to Aden within 60 days, or face sanctions.

 

Houthi Ansar Allah Movement Claims Six Missile And Drone Attacks Against 'U.S.,' 'Israeli,' And Other Targets; Houthi Leader: Targeting Banks, Seaports And Airports Is 'Red Line'

During the second week of July 2024, Yemen's Iran-backed Ansar Allah movement (the Houthis) claimed responsibility for six missile and drone attacks on a series of targets, among them – according to the Houthis – Israeli and American targets in the Arabian Sea, the Red Sea, the Bab Al-Mandab Strait, and the Gulf of Aden.

 

Palestinian Mujahideen Movement Claims Ramming Of Soldiers In Central Israel As First Attack By Unit Devoted To Israel Proper, Threatens To Target Soldiers Who Fought In Gaza Wherever They Are

On July 14, 2024, an Israel Defense Forces (IDF) officer and another soldier were seriously wounded, and another two other soldiers moderately and lightly injured, in a car-ramming attack at the Nir Tzvi junction, near the Tzrifin military base outside the Israeli city of Ramla.

 

Lebanese Journalist Close To Hizbullah: In Scenario Of All-Out War, Hizbullah Will Cause Greater Anarchy On Israeli Home Front Than What Occurred On October 7

In a July 10, 2024 article, the chairman of the board of the pro-Hizbullah Lebanese daily Al-Akhbar posited that Israel has lost "the element of surprise" and along with it the ability to disable Hizbullah's "high-quality capabilities" at the start of a round of fighting.

 

Syrian Media Reports: Commanders From IRGC, Hizbullah, Iraqi PMU, Assad Regime Training Operatives Of Iran-Backed Militias In Eastern Syria On Use Of Weaponry Brought From Iraq

In recent days, several Syrian pro-opposition media outlets reported that Iran-backed militias conducted military training in various areas in eastern Syria, particularly in the vicinity of Al-Bukamal. The following is a review of the reports.

 

Iran-Backed Iraqi Hizbullah Brigades Threatens Revenge On Saudi Arabia For Using Its Land Routes To 'Preserve Momentum' Of Gaza War: 'Kingdom Of Evil Will Pay For Its Actions'

On July 13, 2024, the Iran-backed Iraqi Hizbullah Brigades militia published a post on Telegram threatening to take revenge on Saudi Arabia for its alleged support of the "war against Palestinians" in Gaza.

 

Telegram Channel Affiliated With Iran-Backed Militias In Iraq: Joint, Wide-Ranging Attack On Israel By Islamic Resistance Factions From Iraq And Yemen Expected On Muharram 10 (July 16)

On July 14 and 15, 2024, Telegram channels affiliated with Iran-backed militias in Iraq hinted that during the Islamic month of Muharram in the Hijri calendar year 1446, an escalation is expected in the military operations of the Shi'ite militias against Israel.

 

In First Since Start Of Gaza War – Hizbullah-Affiliated 'Lebanese Brigades' Claims Rocket Fire At Israel

On July 12, 2024, a Hizbullah Telegram channel posted an official statement from the Hizbullah-affiliated Lebanese paramilitary Sunni-Christian-Druze "Lebanese Brigades for Resistance to The Israeli Occupation."

 

Telegram Outlet Affiliated With Iraqi Militias: Axis Of Resistance Carried Out 189 Attacks Against Israel, Allies During Past Week

On July 13, 2024, a Telegram channel affiliated with the Iran-backed militias in Iraq and the rest of the region, published a poster tallying attacks "against the Zionist enemy and its allies" over the past week.

 

From July 8-14: Islamic Resistance In Iraq Claims Five Attacks Against Israel, Including One Houthi-Coordinated Attack

In the week of July 8-14, 2024, the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, an umbrella group of Iran-backed militias in Iraq, issued five statements claiming responsibility for five different attacks that targeted Israel's southern cities of Eilat and Ashdod, Haifa in the north, and Hadera, a city between Tel Aviv and Haifa.

 

Telegram Outlets Linked To Iraqi Militias: Two Drones Targeted U.S. 'Occupation' Forces In Ain Al-Assad Base

On July 16, 2024, the Telegram channel affiliated with Iran-backed militias in Iraq reported that the Ain Al-Assad military base in Anbar, Iraq, had been targeted with two explosions.

 

Video Of Recent Drone Attack On Eilat, Israel Shows Iraqi Al-Nujaba Movement Leader Akram Al-Kaabi Supervising Launch Operation

On July 17, 2024, the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, an Iran-backed joint operation group of Iraqi militias, claimed responsibility for a drone attack on "a vital target" in Israel's southernmost city of Eilat.

 

Islamic State (ISIS) Tallies Operations In Past 12 Months: 5,909 Casualties, 3,368 In Africa Alone, 1,920 Christians, 30 Churches In Mozambique And DRC Set On Fire

On July 11, 2024, the Islamic State (ISIS) released Issue 451 of its weekly Al-Naba' newsletter. The issue featured an infographic detailing the group's most prominent operations of the previous Hijri calendar year, which ran from July 19, 2023 to July 7, 2024.

 

Islamic State (ISIS) Weekly Editorial Stresses Importance Of Intentions For Jihad

On July 11, 2024, the Islamic State (ISIS) released issue 451 of its weekly newsletter, Al-Naba'. The issue's feature article stressed the importance of the Islamic concept of Niyyah, or intention of the heart, in jihad.

On July 16, 2024, the Islamic State's (ISIS) official A'maq News Agency claimed responsibility for a previous-day attack on a Shi'ite mosque in Muscat, Oman.

Pro-Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP) Media Outlet Publishes Two Posters Celebrating 10 Year Anniversary Of 'Caliphate,' Incites Muslims To Rise Against Local Regimes

Over the past few days, an unofficial media group affiliated with the Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP) published two posters: one calling on Muslims to rise against their local government and regimes, and another celebrating the group's 10-year "Caliphate."

Al-Qaeda Affiliate GSIM Tallies Ongoing Attacks In Sahel Region From June 7 - July 7, 2024, Re-Publishes In Somali Language To Expand Its Messaging To The Horn Of Africa

On July 9, 2024, the media arm of Al-Qaeda's affiliate in the African Sahel, Jama'at Nusrat Al-Islam Wal-Muslimeen ("the Group for Support of Islam and Muslims" – GSIM), released an infographic poster tallying attacks carried out by GSIM operatives in the Sahel region during the month of Dhu Al-Hijjah 1445, which corresponds to June 7 to July 7, 2024.
