On the night between the eighth and ninth of May, unknown individuals used a gun with a silencer to kill an Iraqi political activist.
Afghan Taliban: We Condemn The New Wave Of Zionist Oppression Of Palestinian Muslims
On May 12, 2021, The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, also known as the Afghan Taliban, issued a statement condemning what it described as the "new wave of Zionist and Israeli oppression of the persecuted Palestinian Muslims."
A day after the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (the Taliban organization) published an article criticizing the Afghan media and journalists, a high-profile television journalist in the country, was shot dead in Kandahar city on May 6, 2021.

Pakistan's leading Urdu-language newspaper Roznama Ummat, which is considered a pro-Taliban publication, reported on May 4, 2021: "According to [Roznama] Ummat's confirmed sources, for a safe exit from Afghanistan, America has made secret payments of crores [a unit equal to 10 million] of dollars to the Taliban."
