On October 8, 2011, a member of the English-language section of the jihadi forum Shumoukh Al-Islam posted an audio lecture by 'Omar Hammami, aka Abu Mansour Al-Amriki, an American commander in the Somali jihad organization Al-Shabab Al-Mujahideen. The primary target audience of Al-Amriki's 48-minute lecture is Muslim youth in the West who are contemplating joining a jihad group. The lecture's title, "Lessons Learned," refers to Al-Amriki's experience waging jihad in Somalia. The overall message of the lecture is that these youth should not hesitate or wait for approval from clerics or others, but should migrate to a jihad front immediately.
