Sheikh Abu Usama At-Thahabi, said in his Friday, May 17, 2024 sermon at Masjid As-Sunnah near Orlando, FL that the Prophet Muhammad deliberately avoided instituting practices in Islam that resembled the practices of the Jews, the "Zionists," the Christians, and the polytheists of Mecca. He said that the "worst thing" is to resemble enemies of Islam such as the Zionists, and he said that Islam is destined to flourish in the United States. In addition, he prayed that Allah "deal with" U.S. President Joe Biden, U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham, and all the other "criminals". Abu Usama At-Thahabi is a U.S.-born imam who used to serve as the imam of the Green Lane Masjid in Birmingham, England. He has recently returned to the United States.

Sheikh Abu Usama At-Thahabi: "The Prophet had been praying already with his companions, peace and blessings be upon him. But he asked his companions what they are thinking about. 'What do you people think we should do in order to call the community to the Masjid, or the Salat of the Juma'ah [Friday prayer]?'

"The companions answered the question: they say: 'Oh, Prophet of Allah, Let us take the ram – the horn of the ram – and let us blow it. It makes a lot of noise. When we blow that horn, the people from our community – Medina – will hear that horn.' And they knew about the horn of the ram because there were Jews in Medina.
"When the Prophet heard that, peace and blessings be upon him, he said 'No, that's what the Jews do.' What would it look like, being a group of people, an ummah, who, your 'ibada [worship], like salah [prayer] and hajj [pilgrimage] and things about our religion, we are going to get it from the Jews?
