On June 25, 2024, the X account of the Samidoun Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network advertised a livestream interview with Hamas political bureau member Ghazi Hamad, scheduled for June 29.[1] The X post provided a link to the Masar Badil website, where users can register for the event.[2]

Masar Badil, or the Palestinian Alternative Revolutionary Path Movement, is an Anti-Israel, pro- Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) NGO lead by Khaled Barakat, a Canada-based former PFLP official.[3] Barakat is married to Samidoun's International Coordinator Charlotte Kates, who was arrested in May 2024 by Canadian police after she delivered a speech at a rally in Vancouver, British Columbia, during which she expressed support for Hamas, the PFLP, Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) and Lebanese Hizbullah and demanded that they be removed from Canada's terror list.[4]

Samidoun regularly uses its X account to openly disseminate calls for "comprehensive escalation" of "global intifada" and besieging the White House.[5] This is not Samidoun's first platforming of a Hamas senior official. On May 26, Samidoun posted on its YouTube channel a recorded message from Hamas political bureau member Basem Naim, in which he addressed the participants of the Samidoun-organized "Resistance Festival" in Brussels, Belgium.[6] Earlier on May 5, the organization hosted an interview with Hamas Spokesman Osama Hamdan.

A June 5 statement of support for Yemen's attacks on U.S. and UK targets, signed by over 250 international jihadi and anti-Israel organizations was initiated and distributed by Samidoun and Masar Badil. Subsequently, the YouTube accounts of Samidoun and Charlotte Kates were blocked from the platform.[7]

Samidoun and its international coordinator Chrlotte Kates were blocked on YouTube after "severe and repeated violations" of the platform's "violent criminal organization policy" were found.
