In a November 18, 2024 appearance on IRINN TV (Iran), former Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister and advisor to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, Mohammad-Javad Larijani, stated that Iran could develop military nuclear capability within 48 hours, potentially reducing that time to 24 hours. He emphasized that Iran’s nuclear capabilities are non-negotiable and not subject to the "snapback" provisions of the JCPOA. Larijani also warned that any serious threats to Iran’s nuclear program would lead the country to reconsider its deterrence policies, signaling that an attack on its nuclear infrastructure would prompt a response the West would regret.
