In a viewers' poll conducted by Al-Jazeera's "Opposite Direction" TV show that asked: "Do you support the victories of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria?", over 80% of the 54,000 participants voted yes. One of the guests on the show, Swedish-based Iraqi politician Nuri Al-Muradi, hailed ISIS, saying: "This organization emerged from the womb of this crisis, and is the only cure for it. It is here to stay and will expand... because this is divine destiny."
Following are excerpts from the show, which aired on May 26, 2015.
TV host: Welcome once again dear viewers. We are with you live on the air on "Opposite Direction." You can vote on today's topic: "Do you support the victories of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria?" More than 54,000 people have voted on the website of our show. 81.60% voted yes, 18.40% voted no.
Nuri Al-Muradi: Oh boys of the Caliphate, by Allah, you are beyond praise. You have left us speechless. You have achieved the impossible, and left our hearts stunned. Praise be to Allah, who has selected you to be His soldiers and to carry His law. All that is left for us to do is to wait for the banners of the Caliphate to fly over the walls of Baghdad. How great is this moment. Victory is near. "[Kill] them wherever you find them."
TV host: Sir, why did these people vote in favor of the Caliphate?
Nuri Al-Muradi: First of all, let me be frank: The Caliphate is here to stay and will expand. Its convoy is advancing, and we don't care about the barking of the dogs, as the old Arabic saying goes. We are in between two enterprises – the Khamenei enterprise to revive the rule of [ancient Persian king] Khosrau, which was wiped out by the Prophet Muhammad and his companions, and the enterprise of the Caliphate, which has risen to carry the law of Allah. There isn't really any choice.

I support the [Caliphate] enterprise. That's my first point. Secondly, Europe did not hesitate to kill 40 million of its people in WWII, in order to preserve the Sykes-Picot agreement.

This organization emerged from the womb of this crisis, and is the only cure for it. It is here to stay and will expand, whether people like it or not, because this is divine destiny.
