Following are excerpts from an interview with a hacker who participated on the Anonymous Group's cyber attack on Israel on April 7, 2013. The interview aired on the Al-Jazeera network on April 9, 2013:

Interviewer: Joining us is someone who participated in the cyber attack against Israel. He is a member of the group "Anonymous." How was this operation coordinated?

Hacker: Firstly, Salaam Alaikum.

Interviewer: Alaikum Al-Salaam.

Hacker: In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate. Our attack was systematic and well-organized. We Arab and Muslim professional hackers decided to unite, and to launch a coordinated attack against Israel on April 7, 2013, concentrating on sensitive and influential Israeli websites.

Interviewer: Why on this particular day?

Hacker: This is just the day we Arabs decided to unite. We did not choose that day [for any particular reason].

Interviewer: How were you able to coordinate this internationally, considering that hackers from seven or eight countries participated in it?

Hacker: We put the idea out about a month ago, and it received a lot of interest. Indeed, many people participated in the attack, and we made clear accomplishments, including hacking the websites of the stock exchange, of the Mossad, of the Ministry of Education, and around 20,000 Facebook accounts and 500 Twitter accounts. This type of organized attack is called a DoS attack.
