Ayatollah Alireza Arafi, the president of Al-Mustafa International University, said in a Friday sermon he delivered at Qom and that aired on March 9, 2019 on Channel 2 (Iran) that the whole world came to break the back of the Islamic Revolution and the Islamic resistance in Syria and Iraq, but that the revolutionary spirit of the resistance ultimately broke the backs of the enemies in the region. He said that Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad’s recent trip to Iran, which took place on February 27 and in which Assad pledged allegiance to Supreme Leader Khamenei, symbolized the victory of the Iranian people and of the Islamic Revolution.
Ayatolla Alireza Arafi: The whole world came to break the back of the Islamic Revolution and of the Islamic resistance in Syria and Iraq. However, it was the continuation of the Islamic Revolution, and the resistance movement with its revolutionary spirit that broke the backs [of the enemies] in the region. The first trip of Mr. Bashar Al-Assad, which is one of the most important trips, was to Iran. The glory of this visit – the allegiance pledged by this leader of the resistance in the Arab world to the great leader of the Revolution – symbolized the victory of the Iranian people and revolution.
