Ayatollah Ahmad Khatami in Tehran Sermon Pledges Vengeance against US; Resistance in Iraq Must Say: “Yankees Get Lost!”

Ayatollah Ahmad Khatami, a member of the Iranian Assembly of Experts, delivered a Friday Sermon on January 3, 2020, which was aired on Channel 1, Iranian TV. In the sermon he said that Qasem Soleimani's brothers-in-arms will make "Trump and his lackeys lose sleep." He added that "America must rest assured that the blood of the martyr Soleimani will boil" and that the vengeance Iran will exact from them "will turn their day into a dark night." He said that the Americans are advancing towards their collapse. Khatami added: "The Americans will enjoy no more peace in the world." Khatami referred to American presence in Iraq, saying that it is time for the resistance to say "Yankees, get lost!" the crowd responded by chanting "Death to America!" Khatami added "the time has come to finish the Americans in Iraq."

Ayatollah Ahmad Khatami: "[Soleimani's] brothers-in-arms will continue his path with the grace of God. With the grace of God, they will make Trump and his lackeys lose sleep."

Crowd: "Allah Akbar! Allah Akbar! Allah Akbar! Khamenei is the Leader! Death to those who oppose the Rule of the Jurisprudent! Death to America! Death to England! Death to the hypocrites and the infidels! Death to Israel!"

Khatami: "The Americans, and especially Trump, may rest assured that the blood of the martyr Soleimani will boil. We will exact such vengeance from them that it will turn their day into a dark night. With the help of God..."

Crowd: "Allah Akbar! Allah Akbar! Allah Akbar! Khamenei is the Leader! Death to those who oppose the Rule of the Jurisprudent! Death to America! Death to England! Death to the hypocrites and the infidels! Death to Israel!"

Khatami: "The Americans should know: They did not win. Furthermore, they advance, step by step, towards their collapse. I hereby declare: The Americans will enjoy no more peace in this world."

Khatami: "With the grace of God, an anti-American atmosphere has taken over Iraq. After the crime [the Americans] committed, the ground is well paved for their expulsion from Iraq. This is the time, oh zealous Iraqis, in light of the crime they committed... They turned our Soleimani into a martyr as well as Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis, one of the leaders of the PMU... The time has come to finish the Americans in Iraq."
