British-Palestinian Journalist Abdel Bari Atwan: Hizbullah Established A Force To Liberate The Galilee; If Syrian Refugees In Lebanon Are Attacked By The Army, It Is Legitimate For Them To Fight Back

British-Palestinian journalist Abdel Bari Atwan said in an interview that was posted to the Lebanon-based Spot Shot YouTube channel on May 2, 2023 that if the Syrian refugees in Lebanon will fight back if they are attacked. He said that Lebanon is full of weapons that are available to them. He also said that slain Hizbullah terrorist Samir Kuntar had told him that Hizbullah established a force to "liberate" the Galilee, telling him: "We won't just make do with firing rockets."

Abdel Bari Atwan: "I met the martyr Samir Kuntar before his martyrdom, and he said to me: 'We in Hizbullah are establishing a force to liberate the Galilee. We won't just make do with firing rockets. No. These are Arab and Islamic lands, and we must liberate them.'

[...]

"If the Lebanese army attacks the Syrian [refugees], they will defend themselves. This would be legal. You can't expect them to say: 'Please slap me or beat me with a stick.' These people have lost everything. If these Syrian [refugees] are attacked... Lebanon is full of weapons. Would it be difficult for them to obtain weapons and defend themselves?"
