In a May 3, 2024 Friday sermon in Hawthorne, California, Ayman Aishat, Council on American-Islamic Affairs (CAIR) director of mosque engagement, said that the "devils are united" in a "big conspiracy" to prevent the Islamic creed from being implemented in Muslim lands. He said that in order to understand current events, it is enough to examine recent events, when Theodor Herzl presented his Protocol and strategy in the Zionist Congress in Basel. Aishat prayed that Allah annihilate the "plundering Zionists." The sermon was streamed live on the YouTube channel of Masjid Hawthorne.
Ayman Aishat: "In all Muslim lands, where there is a hope for the words of 'there is no God but Allah, and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah' to be implemented, you see a big battle, you see a big conspiracy, and you see that the devils are united to crush anything and everything that is related to 'there is no God but Allah, and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah'.

"For us to understand the current circumstances, we don't have to go thousands of years back. Just go [back] a hundred years ago, and see what happened when the Zionist movement went ahead and wanted to get a small piece of land in the heart of the Muslim nation in Palestine, and they approached Sultan Abdul Hamid of the Ottman Empire and he denied them: 'It doesn't belong to me.'
"Then they came later on and made their big conference in 1898 [sic] in Basel, Switzerland, and you probably know the history, what their leader Theodor Herzl told them, and the Protocol, and the strategy.
"[They said:] 'We will appoint the worst of their own people on top of them, we will let them fight one another.'

"Oh Allah, annihilate the plundering Zionist aggressors. Oh Allah, annihilate them and drive them out of Gaza defeated. Oh Allah, support our brothers in Gaza, stand by them and accept their martyrs, support them against our enemies, Your enemies, the enemies of Islam. Oh Allah, we can see the glad tidings of victory. Oh Allah, we ask that You allow us to pray in the Al-Aqsa Mosque when it is liberated from these criminals."
