Canadian imam Sheikh Ahmad Nashaat said in his May 24, 2024 lecture at the Dar Foundation in Oakville, Ontario: "[Islam] has delivered us from ignorance to Godliness." He said that during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, non-Muslims were introduced to bidets and were "awestruck," because, for the first time in their lives, they felt clean. Nashaat added: "Throughout their lives, they were filthy." He said that this demonstrates how Islam changed the norms of nations. The lecture was streamed live on Dar Foundation on Facebook.
Sheikh Ahmad Nashaat: "When the World Cup was held in Qatar, dozens of people entered for the first time bathrooms with bidets. They said that this was an [amazing] invention by the Muslims. They raided all the markets in Doha, and bought every single bidet they could find. What a scientific discovery! We used a bidet… What a scientific discovery! They were very happy. Each one of them came back home from Doha with a bidet. What cleanliness! I've never felt so clean in my life! They were amazed. At first, they didn't know how to use the bidet, but when it was explained to them, they were awestruck. They felt clean for the first time. Throughout their lives, they were filthy.
