Canadian Imam Younus Kathrada of the Muslim Youth of Victoria said that he is "inciting" his congregants to show support for their "brothers" who want to establish the shari'a in Afghanistan. He made his remarks in a Friday sermon, titled "War on Islam," which was delivered at the Muslim Youth of Victoria Islamic Center on August 20, 2021, and which was posted on its social media accounts on August 23. Kathrada said that the West is concerned with women's rights, and claimed that these rights include a woman's right to be a prostitute, to be abused, and to show off her body to men in pornography. He also said that the Jews and Christians spent "mountains of gold" trying to make Muslims stray from Islam, but they failed, as is evident by the American withdrawal from Afghanistan. Kathrada emphasized that the Jews and Christians are the enemies of the Muslims. He prayed to Allah to grant victory to the mujahideen who wage Jihad in Afghanistan and success to the "brothers" in establishing shari'a. Imam Younus Kathrada: "The [Jews and Christians] are willing to spend mountains of gold in order to take us away from Islam. So they will spend it, but don't fear, at the end of the day, they are not going to win. Allah tells us that they will spend it, and that it will be for them a source of regret. Hmmm... A source of regret... Twenty years in Afghanistan, I don't need to say any more... A source of regret. Then they will be overcome. Does this sound familiar to you? I want you to understand what those rights are, by the way. Her rights to be abused. Her right to show her body off to men, who get off on watching her in porn and other than that.

"Allah grant victory to the mujahideen [fighting] for Your sake everywhere. Allah grant success to our brothers in Afghanistan, so that they establish Your shari'a on this land."
