On April 17, 2024 a group of Columbia University students formed a Gaza Solidarity Encampment on campus, and a protest in support of the students was held outside the campus that continued into April 18. This clip is a compilation of videos from the protest uploaded to X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. In a video posted by an X user going by thizzL, protesters chanted: "Oh Al-Qassam [Brigades], you make us proud, kill another soldier now!" referring to Hamas's military wing that spearheaded the October 7 attack on Israel.
In a video posted on the ANSWER Coalition account on X, protesters riding the NYC subway chanted: "Free our prisoners, free them all! Israel will fall!" In a video from the Party of Socialism and Liberation on X, protesters chanted: "Palestine is Arab!" Within Our Lifetime uploaded a video on its X account from within the Encampment, in which students can be seen chanting: "From the water (of the Jordan River) to the water (of the Mediterranean Sea) Palestine is Arab!"
