Dearborn, Michigan Journalist Osama Siblani: Trump's Special Envoy Richard Grenell Told Me In July About U.S. Plans To Oust Al-Assad; America Seeks To Keep Syria's Oil And Gas, Split Control Of The Country Between America, Israel, And Their Ally Turkey

Dearborn, MI journalist and activist Osama Siblani said in a December 18, 2024 appearance on Mayadeen TV (Lebanon) that Trump’s special envoy, Richard Grenell, told him in July that the U.S. would oust al-Assad, drive Iran out of Syria, and sever the ties between Iran, Syria, Iraq, and Lebanon. Siblani added that America wants to partition Syria, control its oil and gas resources, and give part of Syria to Israel. He expressed surprise that the Arab world has been silent amid the chaos in Syria, noting that the country is being divided into three parts: one to be taken by Turkey, an ally of America and Israel; another by the U.S. to control the gas and oil; and the third by Israel.

Osama Siblani: "I spoke to [Trump's newly-appointed special missions envoy] Richard Grenell in July. He specifically said to me, when I met him: 'We will oust Al-Assad, drive Iran out of Syria, and sever the ties between Iran, Syria, Iraq, and Lebanon.' This is what he said to me in July, so it did not come as a shock to me. The big shock today...

"You asked me what America wants. America wants two things: To partition Syria and to keep the oil and gas resources. This is well known. In addition, it wants to give part of Syria to Israel, and this is what is happening today. What is happening today is not surprising. The big surprise is that the world – especially the Arab world – is watching the new 'heroes' of Syria from the sidelines. The world is watching this rowdy chaos in Syria without saying anything. They do not even issue statements that what is happening is a violation of Syrian sovereignty, and of the 1974 agreement, which was unilaterally torn by Netanyahu. He said: 'It's over. Bashar Al-Assad is gone. We have nothing to do with this agreement.' I am talking about the Agreement on Disengagement, signed in 1974. Therefore, what is happening is the fragmentation of Syria. One part will be taken by Turkey, the ally of America and Israel. This is happening today. Another part will be swallowed up by the U.S. – the areas with all the gas and oil. And another part will be taken, obviously, by Israel."
