During an address delivered in Lebanon on November 30, 2018, Egyptian cleric Zaghloul Al-Naggar said that despite their military might, the Jews are characterized by cowardice, clinging to life, and a tendency to flee from confrontation. He said that they are therefore unfit to bear the modern weapons given to them by the United States. Al-Naggar also quoted an anti-Semitic hadith about Muslims fighting the Jews before Judgment Day. The hadith says that the rocks will call to the Muslims to kill Jews hiding behind them, and that the gharqad tree, which is the tree of the Jews and which they are planting a lot of, would not call to the Muslims. The sermon aired on Al-Quds TV (Lebanon).
Following are excerpts:
Sheikh Zaghloul Al-Naggar: The Jews are purporting to have the 4th or 5th strongest military in the world, but we know that they are characterized by extreme cowardice and that they cling to life. Allah says: "You will find them clinging to life more eagerly than any other people." This is because they do not believe in the Hereafer. Life is everything to them. So we see how the Marches of Return launched by our brothers in Gaza have terrified them greatly. We see how the Israelis were defeated – morally as well as physically – in all the confrontations between the Islamic army in Gaza and the forces of the plundering occupier of Palestinian land.

The West supports them and the U.S. arms them with modern weapons, but the Jews are unfit to bear these weapons, because they have been characterized throughout history by their cowardice, by their clinging to life, and by their tendency to flee from any confrontation. The many battles waged by Muslim forces against this brute enemy prove this. So there are many indications of the demise of that entity, in the very near future, Allah willing. Our Prophet Muhammad told us this when he said: "Judgment Day will not come until you fight the Jews – you to the east of the river and they to the west." This is the situation today. "Until the rocks say: Oh Muslim, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him." According to another version, the gharqad tree will not say that, because it is one of the trees of the Jews. Therefore, they plant lots of gharqad trees.
