Following are excerpts from an interview with Egyptian economic expert Sa'id Tawfiq, which aired on Al-Nas TV on March 8, 2008.
Sa'id Tawfiq: The number one goal in spreading pornographic films is to destroy the identity of the Islamic nation. That is the goal of the West and the Jews. What does it mean to destroy our identity? It means that I am not embarrassed to watch that naked woman, or the man having sex with her on the screen, before my eyes. Then, my identity, my personality, my religion, my heart, and my conscience change. How does this change occur? The first time, you are very embarrassed, and your friends encourage you, saying: "Man, there's nothing to be embarrassed about." After a while, you become used to it, and later, you just get into [the Internet] without any problem. Herein lies the danger. This destroys our Islamic character. It destroys our connection with God, our fear of Him. Then, they come and occupy our country.

When the [Christians] came to occupy Andalusia, which is Spain, they encountered a crying boy on the first day. Why was he crying? He was crying for all the sins. He was sitting next to a tree, praying to Allah, and weeping, because he was affected by the Koran. Then they said: "We cannot occupy this country now." They left and returned years later. Again, they encountered our friend crying, but this time it was because his girlfriend had left him, and he missed her and so on. Then they said: "Now we can invade." Today, they are destroying us with two weapons: drugs – including cigarettes and hookah pipes – and women. That's it. These are the strongest weapons they have. Their most important goal is to sink us deep into depravity.
