Egyptian Journalist Mustafa Bakri: When An American Soldier Faces An Arab Or A Muslim Soldier, He Flees And Becomes Mentally Ill.

The following are excerpts from an interview with Egyptian journalist Mustafa Bakri, which aired on Iqra TV on September 1, 2005

Bakri: I think that the American imperialist enterprise is now facing defeat. All the theories of the neo-cons and the plan for a new American century are being put to the test, facing the constant danger of the resistance in Iraq. No one expected the resistance in Iraq to be so strong, not even George Bush. This is why he is now terrified and his popularity has sunk to 40%.

The American public, and even the decision-makers in Congress and in the American administration, are looking for a solution, and there have been many proposals in Congress to set a timetable for withdrawal.

They are trying to tell us: "We want to run from this resistance." This is because they weren't acquainted with the Arab nation and public. They weren't acquainted with the Muslims' courage. We love death as much as they love life. We love martyrdom as much as they love life. This is why they are in total shock. Therefore, I say that America is nothing more than a paper tiger. When an American soldier comes face-to-face with an Arab or Muslim soldier, he cannot do it, he flees. He becomes mentally ill. One sixth of the American army in Iraq are mentally ill. They're running away en masse, it's a defeat! Those who go to Washington don't want to return.
