During a TV debate on normalization of ties between Egypt and Israel, Egyptian MP Nashwa Al-Dib said "our schoolbooks should go back to referring to it as the 'Zionist entity'... in order to teach our children that this entity is a plunderer of the land, the honor, the holy places, and the resources, and that they have been sucking the blood of the children, and killing our martyrs, our children, our youth, and our mothers for many years." The other guest on the show, writer Farida Shoubashi said that just like the Crusader rule ended, "Israel is destined to perdition." She further said: "We are 300 million Arabs. Can't we handle 15 million Jews?" The show aired on Sada Al-Balad TV on January 3.
Egyptian MP Nashwa Al-Dib: "Our problem is that when it comes to normalization of relations with Israel and traveling there, we have no laws, unfortunately, because we have peace. But what’s more important than laws…"
Writer Farida Shoubashi: "What peace are you talking about?"
Nashwa Al-Dib: "What’s more important than laws…"
Host: "What were you saying?"
Farida Shoubashi: "She said that we have peace. Where is this peace?"
Nashwa Al-Dib: "There is no peace. I am against the [Israeli] entity. I oppose the shameful [peace] accord, but right now, I’m talking about the laws. Do we have laws against [Egyptians who travel to Israel]? Our hands are tied, I’m sad to say."
Farida Shoubashi: "We will never be cured of our illnesses until we start calling things by their real name."
Nashwa Al-Dib: "We will never be cured unless we abolish that shameful agreement. We have been demanding this for a long time now. All the Egyptians and all the Arabs oppose the Zionist entity, which will remain our number one enemy, as I have been saying from the start."

Farida Shoubashi: "Weren’t the Crusaders here for 200 years? [The Israelis] will be gone too. Israel is destined to perdition. I can see it as clear as day. No matter what…"
Nashwa Al-Dib: "Allah willing… Allah willing…"
Farida Shoubashi: "Allah willing, and as a result of our resistance."
Nashwa Al-Dib: "Absolutely."
Farida Shoubashi: "We are 300 million Arabs. Can’t we handle 15 million Jews?"

Nashwa Al-Dib: "We must all work together so that our children know—so that everybody knows—that our number one enemy is the Zionist entity. Our schoolbooks should go back to referring to it as the 'Zionist entity,' and not as the 'Hebrew state,' and so on and so forth. They must use these terms in order to teach our children that this entity is a plunderer of the land, the honor, the holy places, and the resources, and that they have been sucking the blood of the children, and killing our martyrs, our children, our youth, and our mothers, for many years."
