Following are excerpts from an interview with Muhammad Abd Al-Mun'im, of the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood, reminiscing about the 1948 war. The interview aired on Al-Aqsa TV on May 30, 2011:

Muhammad Abd Al-Mun'im: When the Jews would hear the cry of "Allah Akbar," they would flee wailing. Not a single Jew was shot in the chest. All the Jews who were killed were shot in the back.

I forgot to mention that if not for the betrayal [by the Arab world], and if they had not given in to the two ceasefires… The Muslim Brotherhood [forces] were only three hours away from the serpent's lair in Tel Aviv.

If not for the [betrayal], there would have been no such thing as "Israel" crawling on the face of the Earth. I'm not exaggerating. It would have come to an end.
