The following are excerpts from a Friday sermon delivered in Qom, Iran by Ayatollah 'Abdollah Javadi-Amoli:
the people of Najaf should know, Iraq and the Shiites should know this hardship will pass. For Iran it took eight years, for them it has just started.
It's not true that if someone is hit by a mortar shell and his body is torn to shreds, he will be tormented in his grave. The moment the shell reaches him he gains peace and bounty. Others think that one whose blood flows is tormented in his grave. It is not so.
Where are those proud people who will not allow the tomb of 'Ali to be a target for the bullets of this armed infidel called America? Where are the guardians of (Imam) Hosein's honor, who will prevent the Najaf Seminary and the Iraqi Shiites from becoming targets for the horrible attacks of the infidel bullets?
Now the infidels are attacking the most holy cities and countries of Islam.
