Former IRGC Commander-in-chief General Yahya Rahim-Safavi, Khamenei's senior advisor on the armed forces, spoke about Iran's military capabilities facing the Americans in the region in an interview, aired on Iran’s channel 5 TV on January 1, 2021. He said that Iran's military intelligence is monitoring the American forces throughout the region and knows their strengths and weaknesses. General Rahim-Safavi added that America is vulnerable in the region, and Iran's forces are capable of turning the American aircraft carriers into submarines in a matter of hours. Yahya Rahim-Safavi: "The Iranian military forces have complete intelligence orientation. They conduct intelligence monitoring of all the American military movements in the Mediterranean Sea, the Red Sea, the Indian Ocean, the Sea of Oman, the Persian Gulf, and all their bases in countries around Iran. This is accurate intelligence monitoring. They know the Americans' weaknesses and strengths. The [Iranian] forces are fully prepared.
