Following are excerpts from an interview with Abd Al-Galil Sharnoubi, former editor of the official Muslim Brotherhood website, ikhwanonline, which aired on Al-Kahera Wal Nas TV, on December 17, 2012:
Abd Al-Galil Sharnoubi: I would like to testify – and Allah is my witness: I was with Dr. Mohamed Morsi in the operations center monitoring the referendum in the days of Mubarak – both in the first referendum, on Article 76, and in the 2007 referendum, on several articles that were amended. I was also the operations center – and Dr. Morsi knows this – [monitoring] the elections to the Shura Council and the parliament.
The violations that I observed the day before yesterday [in the referendum vote] were exactly the same as I saw in the days of Mubarak. These were exactly the same things that I used to document and make public on the Ikhwan online website, when I was its editor-in-chief. The only difference is that the role of the Interior Ministry has diminished, and has been taken over by the Muslim Brotherhood organization. The role of the NDP has been taken over by the Freedom and Justice Party.
