Osama Hamdan, a member of the Hamas political bureau condemned in a January 17, 2024 address, aired on Al-Jazeera Network (Qatar) Germany's support for Israel in the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague. He said that Germany's support in the ICJ proceeding as well as its approval of arms shipment to Israel does not atone for its Nazi past, on the contrary, it is "resurrecting" its heinous Nazi history, and it is complicit in the crime of genocide against the Palestinians.
Osama Hamdan: "We hereby announce our rejection, condemnation, and strict denunciation of the positions of the Federal Republic of Germany in support of the Nazi occupation and its aggression against our people, by declaring its support of the Zionist entity, in fighting the claim made against it by South Africa in the ICJ, as well as its intention to approve the shipment of 10,000 tank shells as military support and in order to participate in the crime of genocide against our people.
"By participating in the crime of genocide, the government of the Federal Republic of Germany will not atone for its Nazi past, and the past of its Nazi predecessors. In fact, [Germany] is resurrecting Nazi history in its most heinous forms, and is depicting a new Nazi image for Germany, against our people."
