Following are excerpts from an interview with Ali Akbar Salehi, head of the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization, which aired on Iranian Channel 1 on December 26, 2013.
Ali Akbar Salehi: We are currently working on new generations of centrifuges. We have announced to the IAEA that we want to complete all necessary tests on the new generations before we begin mass production of the centrifuges. We want to produce some models as a pilot, which will operate for a long time. That way, we will resolve all the technical problems that may arise in the equipment, before we start mass production.
