Hizbullah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah said in an August 14, 2023 address that was aired on Newsgate Online (Lebanon) that if Israel goes to war with Lebanon, it will be sent "back to the Stone Age". He listed several infrastructure targets that Hizbullah intends to attack in a war with Israel, such as airports, energy facilities, water facilities, communication centers, and the Dimona nuclear facility. Nasrallah also said while Israel may be successful in sending "a country here or there" back to the Stone Ages, nothing will be left of Israel if the "entire resistance axis" joins the war against it. Nasrallah's threat to send Israel back to the Stone Age echoes a similar statement recently made by Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.
Hassan Nasrallah: "Today, I can present evidence, when I say to the enemy: You, too, will be sent back to the Stone Age. If you go to war with Lebanon, you too, will return to the Stone Age. Some people might say that I am exaggerating, so let me provide some evidence.
"Israeli War [sic] Minister [Yoav Gallant] is a former general. He is surrounded by generals and can sit down with them. The size of occupied Palestine is unknown. Once, I prepared a map and showed it on my hand, like that. We can prepare a list. We have such a list, if he doesn't have one, we can send him.
"The civilian airports, the military airports, the air force bases, the power plants and electricity distribution grid, the water plants, the main communication centers, various infrastructure – there is no need to go into detail. The oil, petrol, and ammonium nitrate plants. You can also add the Dimona [nuclear] plant. All of these are located in a small territory. We are not talking about a country the size of Russia, the U.S., or even Sudan. We are talking about occupied Palestine.
"He can calculate how many accurate missiles the resistance needs in order to destroy all of these. Even if you use all your Iron Domes, Magic Wands, and Patriot Missiles... Okay, some of [our] missiles will be intercepted, but how many are needed? I have read some Israeli generals giving technical information. They were not trying to frighten us or to frighten themselves.
"They were pointing to a problem that requires a solution – today, the accurate missiles, if they manage to reach their target, have the same effect of a nuclear weapon. Perhaps this description is exaggerated, but they wanted to estimate the danger.
"So far I only talked about the basic infrastructure, but there are other things that I won't go into right now, but the Israelis know what I am talking about. All of this is if the fighting remains confined to the resistance in Lebanon, so you can only imagine what will happen if it develops into fighting with the entire resistance axis. You may be able to send a country here and there back to the Stone Age, but if the fighting expands to the entire resistance axis, nothing will be left of Israel."
