Hizbullah secretary-general Hassan Nasrallah warned in a June 19, 2024 address posted on Spot Shot on Youtube that Hizbullah would attack Cyprus if it allowed Israel to use its airports and military bases in a war with Lebanon. He said that Hizbullah is capable of reaching every place in Israel with its rockets and UAVs and that it can "shake the foundations" of the country. Nasrallah added: "They should expect us in land, air, and sea." He said that Israel knows that the Israeli army cannot defend it in a full-scale war.

Hassan Nasrallah: "The resistance has kept over 100,000 officers and soldiers of the Israeli forces busy, at a time when they need these forces in Gaza and the West Bank, and in order to win the battle in Rafah.

[...]

"They know that no place in the [Israeli] entity will be safe from our rockets and UAVs. I am not talking about random bombardments. Every rocket, anti-tank missile, and UAV will have a target. Our Hudhud [reconnaissance] drone proves this. They know that we have a full and real bank of targets, and that we have the ability to reach these targets, in a way that will shake the foundations of the [Israeli] entity. It's not just a question of quantity, of how many buildings will collapse. A thousand buildings can collapse, and the [Israeli] entity will remain standing, but a smaller number of buildings could be brought down, and the [Israeli] entity will collapse, because it has certain foundations. In any case, they know what I am talking about. They also know that what awaits them in the Mediterranean Sea is very significant.

"Currently, they are suffering in the Red Sea and in the Arabian Sea, and our brothers in Yemen are making efforts in the direction of the Mediterranean Sea, but if they start a war with Lebanon, what will happen to them in the Mediterranean Sea is completely different. All their beaches, coasts, ports, boats, and ships... They know that this army cannot defend their [Israeli] entity, in a war of that scope.

[...]

"They should expect us in land, air, and sea. I said this before, and I am reiterating it today that if a war is forced upon Lebanon, the resistance will fight without any restraints and limitations.

[...]

"We have information that the army of the Israeli enemy has been conducting military drills every year in Cyprus, in mountainous areas that resemble south Lebanon and Lebanon in general. They use airports in Cyprus. We also have information... The Israelis assume that in the next war, if it happens, the resistance in Lebanon would target its airports, their runways, and so on, so they prepare to use as an alternative in the war against Lebanon, the Cypriot airports and bases. We passed this information to officials in the Lebanese government, and when the Cypriot President was here, they spoke with him about this, and he said that there was nothing to it, or whatever, even though the information is 100% correct. The Israelis say this. It's not just us. They have published documentaries about their maneuvers in Cyprus.

[...]

"The Cypriot government had better be warned that opening the Cypriot airports and bases to the Israeli enemy so it could target Lebanon would mean that the Cypriot government would become part of the war, and the resistance would treat it accordingly."
