Iranian political analyst Emad Abshenas said in a March 11, 2025, appearance on UTV (Iraq) that the Americans have a habit of lying until the world believes their lies. He stated that it is not important whether Trump believes that Iran’s nuclear program is peaceful because Trump is unimportant. Abshenas added that Iran’s nuclear program is peaceful, and Trump can say whatever he wants. He stressed that the Americans have accustomed everyone to the fact that they always lie. Abshenas said that President Trump personally cannot be trusted. He warned that any country cooperating with the U.S. by detaining Iranian oil tankers will have its own oil tankers detained. He also said that American sanctions have not and will not affect Iran; no new sanctions on Iran could have any effect. Abshenas remarked that Trump’s foreign policy is driving many countries around the world to arm themselves with nuclear weapons, including Iran, as well as countries like Japan, South Korea, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia.
Interviewer: "Trump and Netanyahu do not believe that Iran's nuclear program is peaceful."
Emad Abshenas: "Whether Trump believes it or not is not important. Trump is not important, whether he believes this or not. Iran's nuclear program is peaceful, according to the international principles and laws. He can say whatever he wants. The Americans have accustomed everyone to the fact that they always lie, in order to get what they want. We saw how they had lied about Iraq having weapons of mass destruction, and then they destroyed it, but did not find any weapons of mass destruction. They did the same thing in Libya and in many other countries. The Americans have a habit of lying, lying, and lying, until the world believes their lies. This is their way.

"Trump's policy today encourages many countries to arm themselves with nuclear weapons – not just Iran, but from Japan to South Korea to Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and other countries. Today, they all think that they will not be able to defend themselves in this jungle world, and in this way.

"If an Iranian ship is detained, an American ship will be detained. Any country that cooperates with the U.S. in detaining Iranian oil tankers, will have its own oil tankers detained.

"Trump personally cannot be trusted. Even if we consider the international agreements that the U.S. has signed – the Americans left them and then returned several times, and it is impossible to know what they want to do, like in the case of the [Paris] climate agreement and others."
