Press TV (Iran) aired a report on the Iranian delegation to Russia's international military technical exhibition on August 13, 2024. Marina Kortunova, Press TV's correspondent in Moscow, said that Russian President Vladimir Putin and Minister of Defense Andrey Belousov addressed the delegations of "friendly nations" such as Iran, India, China, and Belarus. She added that Iran set up a large pavilion for the third consecutive year that includes Iranian drones and missiles. IRGC Brigadier General Ali Shademani discussed his country's cooperation with Russia, and he said that the countries have "common security challenges in the region." He added: "This partnership is very promising." Kortunova said that the exhibition included weapons used in the Ukraine conflict. She ended her report stating that the exhibition had a limited participation because it was held against the backdrop of fierce fighting in the Kursk and Belgorod regions, in which she claimed a "huge number of NATO mercenaries are taking part."
Marina Kortunova, Press TV: "Foreign companies are participating in Russia's international military technical exhibition army 2024. Defense officials, experts and visitors from friendly nations, such as Iran, India, China, and Belarus are in attendance. Russian president Vladimir Putin addressed the foreign participants, expressing his gratitude for the involvement of foreign countries in this event."
Vladimir Putin: "We appreciate and support such interest, value our partnerships, and are ready to develop them. We aim to work together to create equal, indevisable security, and a new, more just, multipolar world. Our commitment to constructive cooperation was in demand and resonated sincerely. This year, dozens of countries sent high level delegations, including heads of national defense departments, who are forged. Over 120 foreign countries confirmed their participation."
Narrator: "Domestic and foreign innovations, along with the unique solutions that have proven effective on the battlefield are on display. The fundamental characteristics are continuously being enhanced. Their first of designers, engineers, scientists, and workers at defense plants are going to take into account the combat experience gained during military operations. The Russian Minister of Defense [Andrey Belousov] named four conditions for success in an armed confrontation with the West."
Andrey Belousov: "The first priority is to equip our troops with the most modern, and high-precision weapons. The second is to employ new tactical methods in combat operations, including the use of unmanned and robotics systems. The third is to create an effective control system based on advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence. And lastly, we must continually enhance the training of military personnel, particularly, the command staff."
Kortunova: "The Islamic Republic of Iran has set up a large pavilion for the thirtieth consecutive year, showcasing new technologies and equipment. Iranian drones and missiles are renowned worldwide and attract significant interest at the forum. Iran is also presenting its accomplishments in cybersecurity, marine equipment, and aircraft manufacturing."
Brig. General Ali Shademani: "We cooperate with the Russian Federation in the military technical sphere and defense. This cooperation has historical roots, and we are now working to expand it. We do not have similar partnerships with countries outside our region. The Russian Federation is not only our close neighbor, we address common security challenges in the region together. Defense cooperation is just one aspect of our comprehensive collaboration with Russia, which also includes political, economic, and other areas. This partnership is very promising."
Kortunova: "This year, the event has been updated to emphasize the implementation of tasks related to special military operations. The forum showcases weapons and equipment actively used in the Ukrainian conflict, as well as modernized versions of existing products, and advanced weaponry. The duration of the forum has been reduced to three days, with limited mass attendance. The tenth forum is taking place against the fierce fighting in the Kursk and Belgorod regions of Russia, in which a huge number of NATO mercenaries have taken part, as well as a severe escalation in the international arena.
