Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said in a February 5, 2020 speech that aired on Ofogh TV (Iran) that the Deal of the Century is stupid and that it will die before President Trump dies. He also said that it is Iran's duty to support the Palestinian resistance and its fighting groups. The audience chanted: "Death to America!"
Ayatollah Ali Khamenei: "[The Deal of the Century] is stupid. Why? Because it will definitely fail. This plan will die before Trump dies."
Crowd: "Death to America! Death to America! Death to America! Death to America! Death to America! Death to America! Death to America! Death to America!"
Ayatollah Ali Khamenei: "So for something that will definitely not be realized – to come, to sit, to spend money, to invite this and that, to make noise all over the world when unveiling this – it's a stupid thing to do.

"All the Muslim peoples should support the Palestinians. This is the way to fix it. Of course, in my opinion, the Palestinian organizations will engage in resistance. The armed Palestinian organizations will engage in resistance. They will continue the resistance. Resistance is the way. Fortunately, this resistance in West Asia is no longer limited to Palestine. This resistance exists in a circle that is wider than Palestine. Inshallah, this resistance will increase day by day. As the regime of the Islamic Republic, we see it as our duty to support the Palestinian fighting groups. We will support them in any way we can and in any scope we can. This is the will of the regime of the Islamic Republic and the Iranian people. Inshallah, they will get stronger and will weaken their enemy."
