Mashhad Friday Sermon by Ayatollah Ahmad Alamolhoda on Eve of Anniversary of the 1979 Takeover of the U.S. Embassy in Tehran: We Want America to Die a Painful Death; One Day It Will Be Toppled and Destroyed

Iranian Ayatollah Ahmad Alamolhoda, Supreme Leader Khamenei's representative in the Khorasan Razavi province, said in a Friday sermon on November 1, 2019 in Mashhad, that the day will come when America will be toppled and destroyed. Addressing people who claim that chanting "Death to America!" hasn’t achieved anything, Ayatollah Alamolhoda said that the Iranians' curse is for America to die an agonizing death rather than to simply drop dead. He also said that America's "lack of understanding" is the reason it abandoned the Kurds in Syria.

Ayatollah Ahmad Alamolhoda: Forty years have passed since our believing youth, the students who follow the line of the Imam, took over the American embassy – or rather, the house of spies. Some people, here and there, say: 'Since the beginning of the Revolution, for more than 40 years – and even before that, since the days of the struggle against the tyrannical [Shah] – we have been chanting 'Death to America!' What has happened? To where has chanting 'Death to America!' taken us? After all, America is still in control. What result have all these 'Death to America!' chants yielded?' Look, dear ones, 'death' is a curse. Death curses against a certain movement work in two possible ways. Sometimes, the target of the curse simply drops dead. But if the curse is extremely harsh, it will not end in sudden death, and the target of the curse suffers great torment before dying. Our curses against America, ever since our youth took over its nest of spies, have been for America to die in agony. America is humiliated more and more with every passing day. It is declining with every passing day. It is becoming more contemptible with every passing day, and it goes more bankrupt with every passing day. The day will come when it will be toppled and destroyed.

America has become miserable. This is the secret behind America's misery. Its lack of understanding has led it to pack up everything and abandon the Syrian Kurds between the jaws of the enemy, forcing America to flee [the region].
