Following are excerpts from a public address by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, which aired on the Iranian News Channel on May 13, 2007:
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad: The people who shouted slogans about helping the Jews are the same people who, by means of conspiracies and plotting, made the Jews flee European and other countries.

They are not Christians, Muslims, or Jews. The people who created this mess in the world do not believe in any religion.

They do not utter a single word of truth. Everything they say is a lie. You can see what a mess they caused in the world. These are only their overt acts of oppression, but they have committed covert acts of oppression as well. Their covert acts of oppression include their desire to keep science and technology for themselves and for their group of allies. They want to have a monopoly on medical progress, on the most important medicines, on physical, chemical, and technological progress, in order to rule others.

Your days of rule in the Persian Gulf region have come to an end. These are the days of friendship between the peoples of the region, days of unity between the peoples and governments of the region.
You should know that the peoples and governments of the region will, through unity and cooperation, create an atmosphere that will make you leave our region.
