Dr. Sam Mehdi Torabi, an Iranian researcher who is the Director of the Risalat Strategic Studies Institute, said in a May 30, 2020 interview on Channel 2 [Iran] that the riots taking place in the U.S. will achieve nothing and will ultimately be suppressed. He said that the Americans are too incompetent to be able to carry out a revolution, particularly when compared to Iran, which he said has a leader and "very intellectual forces" that can run the revolutionary movement for a large society. He also said that America’s entire elite class has been brainwashed and that the regular Americans are very ignorant.
Dr. Sam Mehdi Torabi: "It seems that the Americans are too incompetent to carry out a revolution. I mean, they did carry out some revolution 250 years ago, but that was it. If I wanted to compare it to what happened in Iran at the time of the Revolution [1979] - American society is very... The entire elite has been brainwashed and the regular people are very ignorant. Perhaps they are oppressed and have no agency, but they are very ignorant. You can see now that they have no leader. We had a leader as well as very intellectual forces. We are talking about people who could run the [revolutionary] movement for the sake of a very large society like that of Iran. A similar thing does not exist in America."
Host: "True."
Torabi: "And therefore, I think that just like in the previous cases, this will not achieve anything."
Host: "So there will be riots for a while and they will be suppressed..."
Torabi: "We hope that they will carry out a revolution, but..."
Host: "It will be suppressed."
