Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said in a May 22, 2020 Quds Day address that aired on Khorasan Jonoobi TV (Iran) that the plundering of the state of Palestine and the formation of the "Zionist cancerous tumor" is the greatest crime in recent history. He said that the "heretical doctrine" of Zionism had been invented by England and by the "Jewish masters of gold." He emphasized that fighting for the liberation of Palestine is Jihad for the sake of Allah and an Islamic obligation. Ayatollah Khamenei said that the Zionist regime will be removed like the dangerous malignant growth that it is and criticized people who say that Israel is a reality. He also compared the "veteran Zionist virus" to COVID-19 and he urged people to support and arm Palestinian resistance fighters and help expand the Jihad in Palestine. He added: "Victory is guaranteed."
Ayatollah Ali Khamenei: "First of all, we must mention the magnitude of the disaster of the plundering of the state of Palestine and of the formation of the Zionist cancerous tumor on it. Among the crimes against humanity in recent times, no other crime is equal in size and severity.

"The main culprits in this disaster were the Western countries and their satanic policies. When the victors of World War I divided West Asia among themselves...The Asian territory of the Ottoman Empire was their most important spoils of war and they divided it at the Paris Peace Conference. That was when they felt, more than ever, that they needed a safe base in the heart of the region in order to guarantee their permanent control. England had paved the way for this years before, with the Balfour plan and in consort with the Jewish masters of gold, it invented the heretical doctrine of Zionism so it could play this role.

"Ultimately, after World War II, they took advantage of the fact that the region's countries were distracted and were facing problems and they landed their blow and declared the establishment of the fake regime and the nationless Zionist state.

"The fight for the liberation of Palestine constitutes Jihad for the sake of Allah and an Islamic duty. In this struggle, victory is guaranteed.

"The goal of this struggle is to liberate all of Palestine, from the river to the sea, and the return of all the Palestinians to their country. Making do with a state in some corner of that land, following the method suggested by the insolent Zionists' literature, does not signify a search for justice or realism.

"The Zionist regime is a malignant growth that is lethal to this region. Without a doubt, it will be uprooted and removed. Shame and disgrace will be the lot of those who have offered the means at their disposal in the service of this arrogant policy. Some people, in an attempt to justify this ugly behavior, claim that the Zionist regime is a reality in the region. They fail to remember that a lethal and harmful reality must be fought and removed. Today, the coronavirus is a reality and all sensible people believe that it must be fought. Henceforth, the veteran Zionist virus will undoubtedly not survive in the region and it will be uprooted by the efforts, faith, and zeal of the youth.

"My main advice is to continue the struggle, to organize the Jihadi movements and their cooperation, and to expand the Jihad front to all of Palestine. Everybody should assist the Palestinian people in this holy Jihad. Everybody should support the Palestinian fighters and equip them. We will proudly do all we can in this regard. One day we noticed that the Palestinian fighters have faith, zeal, and courage, and the only problem was that they had no weapons in their hands. With the guidance and help of God, we made all the necessary plans and the result is that the balance of power in Palestine was shifted."
