Iraqi-Swedish sociology professor Abdulsalam Sabaa Altaii said in an October 1, 2024 interview with the State of Ahwaz Media Network on YouTube that Iran poses a greater danger to the Arabs than Israel. He added that Iran is the "catastrophe" of the Arab nation. Altaii explained that Iran started occupying Arab lands before Israel, by taking over the State of Ahwaz in 1925. He said that more Arabs were killed by Iran in Ahwaz, which he listed as an Arab country, Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, and Yemen, than by Israel in the "Arab-Zionist wars." Altaii added that Iran benefits from the resources of the Arabs, it controls the oil in Iraq and Ahwaz, explaining that the oil from Ahwaz constitutes 75% of the Iranian economy.
Abdulsalam Altaii: "The catastrophe of the Arab nation, and the cause of instability in the pan-Arab security is Iran. Iran preceded Israel in occupying Arab countries. The first country to be occupied was the Arab State of Ahwaz, in 1925, and it was followed by the UAE islands, Iraq, Lebanon, and Syria.
"The number of Arabs killed by Iran in Ahwaz, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, and Yemen is higher than the number of Arabs killed by Israel in the Arab-Zionist wars. With regard to social, cultural, and geo-political security, the undermining of the national Arab security in Lebanon and Gaza today is orchestrated by the very same Persian enemy that destroyed the Arab State of Ahwaz.
"In terms of the Arab economy – Iran is in control today of the oil in Ahwaz and Iraq, in addition to its control of the religious tourism in the holy Shiite places in Iraq. It is well-known that the oil of the State of Ahwaz constitutes the backbone of Iranian economy. It constitutes 75% of Iran's economy.
"Iran's economy benefits from the resources of the Arabs more than Israel does. Iran is more dangerous to us than Israel. Both of them are dangerous, but presently, Iran is benefitting more than Israel [from Arab resources]."
