Ireland-based exiled Fatah militant Jihad Jara said on a July 6, 2023 show on Awda TV (Palestinian Authority) that Fatah's military wing, the Al-Aqsa martyrs' Brigades, must "return to the fray in full force," becoming a "deterring force, defending all the Palestinians." He continued to say that it was the Palestinian Authority's security agencies who have led the "Intifada" and that 60% of the "martyrs" are members of security forces or their sons. Jara was a senior leader with the Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades during the second Intifada, according to Israeli security, he was involved in terrorist attacks against Israeli targets including suicide bombings. Jihad Jara: "Everybody attests t the resistance of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade in the Jenin refugee camp – they attest to [the Brigades'] heroism, glory, and steadfastness. These heroes are no older than 24.
"They have taught the Israeli occupation a lesson, with their power of the resistance of Fatah and the Palestinians. They have taught the occupation that one generation passes on to the next and that the revolutionary Palestinian gun will remain aimed at the Israeli occupation, unlike the treacherous weapons that stab the Palestinians in the back.

"By Allah, I call upon all the Fatah leaders – enough is enough! No more communiques, slogans, or cries for help. The Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades must return to the fray in full force. We need to support the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, on the ground and in full force. The Al-Aqsa martyrs Brigades, Fatah's military wing, must become again a deterring force, defending all the Palestinians.
