IRGC Commander-in-Chief General Hossein Salami said in a November 25, 2019 speech at a rally that aired on IRINN TV (Iran) that the recent demonstrations in Iran have been an attempt on the part of Iran’s enemies, namely America, Israel, England, and Saudi Arabia, to defeat the Iranian people. He claimed that the increase in fuel prices was only an excuse for the demonstrations and that Iran is monitoring the actions of its enemies and of U.S. President Donald Trump. General Salami warned that America would not be able to help Israel before it is annihilated, that Iran always settles the score with everybody, that Iran will annihilate its enemies if they cross its red lines, and that anybody who transgresses against the Iranian people will be severely punished in a way that will serve as a lesson to the whole world. He added: “There is a limit to our patience… If this accumulated energy is released, no enemy, anywhere in the world, will be safe.” The crowd chanted: “Allah Akbar! Khamenei is the Leader! Death to those who oppose to Rule of the Jurisprudent! Death to America! Death to England! Death to the hypocrites and infidels! Death to Israel!”

Hossein Salami: The strife of recent days is the result of the great defeats that the enemy suffered in the different arenas in the past 40 years, and especially in the past eight months, at the hand of the Islamic nation and the great Iranian people. [The enemy] had been waiting for months. It could not make something happen, but it waited for something to happen in order to take advantage of it.

The fuel [price hike] was merely an excuse. [The enemy] was seeking to defeat the Iranian people. You saw that when [the enemy] reached the scene, it set every place on fire. This is the exact meaning of Western democracy, of defending human rights, and of supporting the Iranian people, according to the logic of the Americans. You saw that even Trump, the American president, did not attend the Congressional impeachment session. He stayed in the White House, and formed a command center to defeat the great Iranian people.
Chanting crowd: Death to America! Death to America! Death to America! Death to America!
Hossein Salami: This time, he… Believe me, we were monitoring everything. This time, he brought all his capabilities to the scene: maximum pressure, maximum psychological warfare, all the mercenary infantry from within… Even his aircraft carrier, which for months had remained out of the Sea of Oman, out of fear of the young men who defend the sea of the Islamic Revolution, arrived at the scene. I am saying to them: It’s too late. It’s all over. I am saying to the Zionists too: Don’t wait for American. Don’t rely on it. America always comes late. Watch yourselves. America will only come after you have been annihilated, only when it’s too late.
Chanting crowd: Allah Akbar! Allah Akbar! Death to Israel! Death to Israel!

Hossein Salami: Today, our enemies can no longer take any action. They have been defeated. Look at their leaders: They are withered, depressed, mortified, hopeless, impotent. We monitor them everywhere and say to them: We leave no action unanswered and unavenged. We will never have unsettled debts with any power. We settle the score with everybody. Just wait.

I am saying once again to the enemies – to America, England, Israel, and the Saud clan: You have tried us in the field. You received powerful slaps, and you could not hit back. The whole world has seen some of those slaps, and some it has not seen. Just wait. If you cross our red lines, we will annihilate you.

Hossein Salami: Death to Israel! Whoever wants to transgress against the property, lives, and family honor of our people will be severely punished, in a way that will serve as a lesson to everybody. We have acted with nobility. We have been patient. But beware. There is a limit to our patience. Respect the Iranian people and be polite. If this accumulated energy is released, no enemy, anywhere in the world, will be safe.
