In an address in Kafr Kanna on July 19, 2014, Sheik Kamal Al-Khatib, deputy leader of the Islamic Movement in Israel, glorified martyrdom and Jihad and said to Israel: "The David of Gaza tells you that he will repay you in spades, and will rub your nose in the mud."

Sheik Kamal Al-Khatib: Gaza, which vanquished the Tatars and the Mongols in July 1260, is the same Gaza that is vanquishing the Israelis in July 2014. The Israelis are the new Tatars.

The David of our times is an Islamist, whose motto is: "Allah is our goal, the Prophet Muhammad is our role model, the Koran is our constitution, Jihad is our path, and death for the sake of Allah is our loftiest aspiration."

Sheik Kamal Al-Khatib: Oh Israelites, the David of Gaza is telling you today that the notion of turning the other cheek is a thing of the past. The David of Gaza tells you that we shall break the hand that aims to harm us. The David of Gaza tells you that he will repay you in spades, and will rub your nose in the mud.

Oh [Arab rulers] who sign deals in order to drag Gaza into your camp of shame – I will refrain from mentioning your names... A professional whore wants all women to be like her. Why? So that nobody will rebuke her for being a prostitute. Thus, some countries practice prostitution today. They practice political and even moral prostitution. Yes, yes, yes. The UAE is the center of prostitution in the Middle East, is it not?
To this they want to drag Gaza! But Gaza says: No!
