Jamal Wakim, a Lebanese professor of history and international relations, said on Al-Manar TV (Hizbullah-Lebanon) on December 28, 2020 that Lebanon must get rid of the political elites. He said that since these elites want to be "such Francophones," they should supply Lebanon with guillotines so the Lebanese could chop off their heads like in the French Revolution. "There is nothing wrong with this," he said. Wakim added that he supports severing Lebanon's relations with the West, France, and America, and strengthening ties with countries such as Russia, China, Iran, India, and Brazil.
Jamal Wakim: "We need to remove the [political] elite, get rid of it. Back in the days of the French Revolution, they would round them up and chop their heads off."
