Jordanian MP Hind Al-Fayez against Anti-ISIS Coalition: The U.S. Just Wants a Foothold

#4804 | 01:35
Source: Mayadeen TV (Lebanon)

In a Mayadeen TV interview, Jordanian MP Hind Al-Fayez said: "I want to uproot these terrorist organizations, but not under American auspices." The Americans, Al-Fayez said, were "trying to shatter the Arab countries into mini-states."

Following are excerpts from the interview, which aired on February 11, 2015.

Hind Al-Fayez: If the U.S. had really wanted to get rid of [ISIS], it would have done so by now. When it decided to act against Iraq – an actual state with a strong army – it destroyed Iraq and crushed its army. When the U.S. decided to shatter the Soviet Union to pieces, it went to work on it, using the mujahideen. So it's not a difficult task for the U.S. to do away with such an organization.

Therefore, we do not need an alliance the purpose of which is to contain these terrorist organizations. What we do need is a pan-Arab alliance, completely detached from the American and Zionist schemes. They are trying to contain these organizations, and they are financing them, so that these groups can serve as a foothold in the Arab world. I want to uproot these terrorist organizations, but not under American auspices. [The Americans] are trying to shatter the Arab countries into mini-states. However, we have the awareness to prevent this scheme from being completed.
