Jordanian TV host Dr. Ahmad Shahrouri, who is a shari'a professor at Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan, said in a July 14, 2019 show on Yarmouk TV (Jordan) that the Muslims' conflict with the Jews is an existential conflict. He said that the land of Palestine belongs to the Palestinians, who he described as its eternal people who have lived there for 7,000 years, and he said that the fact that the Jews "passed through" Palestine for a 70-year period in history is absolutely meaningless. Dr. Shahrouri rejected any accusation of antisemitism or racism, saying that he does not oppose any religion or human being, and he went on to say that he wants to "smash the head" of anybody who claims to be Jewish, who says that Jerusalem belongs to the Jews, and who refers to the Wall of the Buraq as the Wailing Wall. He said that those who want to cut a deal with the Jews and to recognize Palestine as the Jewish homeland are losers, and that any Muslim who does not believe that the Jews are the enemies of the Muslims should go join the Jews and the Zionists. Dr. Shahrouri added that Allah gave the Muslims the authority to defend themselves with any force at their disposal when someone "puts a knife to [their] throat."
Ahmad Shahrouri: "The truth is that our conflict with the Jews is genuinely a conflict over our very existence. It is either us or them. Palestine is not big enough for two peoples. Palestine belongs to its eternal people, who have been there for the past 7,000 years. The fact that the Jews passed through Palestine for 70 years during those 7,000 years is absolutely meaningless. This is the truth that everybody should hear.

"Don't talk to us about being anti-Semites and racists. Dude, the Quran overflows with verses that can be used to respond to those idiots calling us anti-Semites. Dude, I'm not 'anti' any human being. I am not persecuting [members of] any religion. But if someone says that he is a Jew, that Jerusalem should be his, and that the Buraq Wall is the Wailing Wall... When someone says all these things, I want to smash his head.

"If you are a Muslim who believes in the Quran, you must believe that the Jews are your enemies. If you don't believe in the Quran, you should tell us, so that we know how to deal with you. If you are one of us – then this is the word of Allah and you must obey it. But if you are not one of us, go join the Jews. Go! We have many enemies and you would not increase their number significantly.

"Beware! Anyone helping the Zionists stands accused. He's a Zionist just like them, even if he says that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is His prophet. This is the false shahadah [testimony] of someone who does not comply with it because he is helping our enemy against us. He is providing our enemy with aid against us. When someone puts a knife to our throats, Allah gave us the authority to defend ourselves and to fend that person off with all the force at our disposal."
