In a recent TV interview, Kuwaiti Professor Abdallah Nafisi said: "If I were one of those oppressed Sunnis in a village stormed by the Shiite [militia], and I saw the women and children being slaughtered, I would not object to pledging allegiance to the Islamic State," he said.
Following are excerpts from the interview, which aired on the Saudi Safa TV channel on January 17, 2015:
Abdallah Nafisi: Iraq is ruled by Iran. The Iraqi government is a subsidiary of Iran.

They supposedly target the Islamic State, but in fact, they are targeting all the Sunni population centers. They attack two members of the Islamic State, taking with them 200 women and children from a Sunni village. The Iranians are bombing all the Sunni areas at their leisure.
Interviewer: Will there be a genocide of the Sunnis in Iraq?
Abdallah Nafisi: Of course. Yes, a genocide. This is a crime against humanity.

Interviewer: Some Sunnis may have allied themselves with the Islamic State, in order to protect their interests…
Abdallah Nafisi: They were forced to do so. When the forces of the Shiite [militia] enter some village and slaughter the Sunnis, and the Sunnis look around and see that the GCC countries are not lifting a finger – the only thing left for them to do is to seek the help of the Islamic State.
