Lebanese MP Nadim Gemayel: Hassan Nasrallah Is Lying; Hizbullah Is Involved in Miqdad Clan Lawlessness

Following are excerpts from a TV program featuring Lebanese MP Nadim Gemayel, which aired on Murr TV on August 18, 2012.

Nadim Gemayel: People from the Miqdad clan appeared on TV, and held conferences, in which they threatened everyone. They should have been arrested. We don't need legal proceedings. We need government decisions...

Host: But if they arrest them, there might be a massacre. A battle might ensue between the Lebanese Army and the Miqdad clan.

Nadim Gemayel: This would mean that this area, which we have been talking about for five years, is lost and no longer belongs to Lebanon, and that the army and security forces are incapable of controlling it. We might as well call it Hizbullah-land, which is not part of Lebanon.

Host: How can you call it Hizbullah-land when Nasrallah said yesterday that this area is not controlled even by Hizbullah or Amal?

Nadim Gemayel: This is a lie.

Host: Are you accusing Hassan Nasrallah of lying?

Nadim Gemayel: Yes, I am accusing Hassan Nasrallah of lying

Host: These are serious accusations. If he says that Hizbullah is not involved in...

Nadim Gemayel: Hizbullah is involved and then some. What we see there are not personal weapons. These are not the weapons of the Miqdad clan. These are the weapons of Hizbullah, at the disposal of the Miqdad clan.
